Labuschagne consecutive century’s help made easy for Australia


David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne scored centuries as Australia thrashed South Africa by 123 runs in the second ODI in Bloemfontein on Saturday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

Warner scored 106 off 93 balls and Labuschagne made 124 off 99 balls as Australia piled up 392-8 after being put in to bat. South Africa were bowled out for 269 in 41.5 overs.

It was Warner’s 20th ODI century and Labuschagne’s second. The pair put on 151 for the third wicket after Australia had lost 2 wickets.

Travis Head made 64 and Josh Inglis 50 as Australia scored at more than six runs an over.

South Africa’s bowlers were all taken to the cleaners, with only Tabraiz Shamsi (4-61) managing to make an impact.

David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen top-scorers for South Africa with 49, but the rest of the batting failed to fire.

The third ODI will be played in Potchefstroom on Tuesday.
